5-28-2007 TIPTON, HUGH HANLEY, age 81 of Maryville, passed away Sunday, May 27, 2007 at Blount Memorial Hospital. Preceded in death: first wife Elfreda Perkins Tipton, Mother and Father Mike and Mary Brown Tipton, Sister Clara Myers, Brother Carson Tipton; Survivors: Wife Hazel Holbert Tipton, Daughter Sharon and husband Ransom Ebersole, Rolling Prairie, IN; Sons, Hugh Jr and wife Bobbie Tipton, South Bend, IN; Warren Tipton and Friend Susie Shuster, New Carlisle, IN; Stepdaughters, Vicky Fay, Connie Gosnell, Debbie Havens of Maryville, Judy and husband Ed Stokes, Gray, GA/Knoxville, TN; Grandsons Erik and wife Sarah Ebersole, LaPorte, IN; Andrew and wife Tashonna Ebersole, Walkerton, IN; Grandsons, Cody and Matthew Tipton, South Bend, IN; Jason Tipton, New Carlisle, IN; Granddaughter Rebekah and husband Jim Gilbert, California; Sisters, Grace Boling, Maryville, Gladys and husband Clifford Reed; Eunice and husband WT (Dub) Reed of Maryville, Brothers: Mike and wife Thelma Tipton, Bruce and wife Sue Tipton of Maryville, Four Great Grandchildren, Alreanna, Alyssa, Sonya Ebersole and Jacob Gilbert. Mr. Tipton graduated from Walland High School, He served in the U.S. Army during WWII. In the 1970's he was an Elder at the Westside Church of Christ in South Bend, IN. He is also a Mason. He retired from Allis Chalmers and Bendix Corp. in Indiana. Funeral services will be 7:00pm Tuesday at McCammon-Ammons-Click Chapel with Rev. Ransom Ebersole and Rev. George Macht officiating. The family receiving friends 5:00-7:00pm Tuesday at the funeral home. Burial will be in Sauktown Cemetery, Mill Creek, Indiana.
