Hubert Eugene Cotter, 90 years of age, born August 11, 1925, died at Blount Memorial Hospital January 4, 2016. He was a member of Clover Hill Presbyterian Church and was a veteran of the U. S. Army having served during World War II. He was a godly man, family always came first and he was a good husband, father, brother, grandfather and great grandfather. His work was important to him. He started with Alcoa Aluminum and was supervisor at Ormet Aluminum and Noranda Aluminum where he retired in 1985 and returned to his hometown of Maryville. Preceding him in death was a son, Donald Eugene Cotter; sisters, Ruby White, Pearl McCulley and Lou Ella Ballard; brothers, Carl Wayne Cotter and John Cotter; granddaughter, Sarah Jo Miller. Survivors are his wife of 71 years, Mary Elizabeth Cotter; children, Kenneth Lynn Cotter of NC and William Carl Cotter of Collierville, TN, Elizabeth Ann (Cotter) Miller of WV and Susan (Cotter) Anderson of MO; 9 grandchildren; 10 great grandchildren. He was very blessed to have many nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be at 2:00 p.m. Friday in McCammon-Ammons-Click Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Roy Scarbrough and Rev. Tom Gilliland officiating. The interment will follow at Grandview Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 12-2:00 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.
