Howard Yearout (Hy) Parker

Howard Yearout (HY) Parker, age 87, of Alcoa, passed away quietly at home on Sunday, August 25, with Kathryn Parker, his wife of 63 years, by his side. He was born July 4, 1926 to the late Laurence and Kitye Parker of Louisville TN. Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by his beloved son, Stephen Howard Parker, mother and father-in-law, Dwight and Evelyn Lovingood; sisters-in-law Wilma Ray and Fran Carrol, brother-in-law D. L. Lovingood Jr. Survivors include his loving wife, Kathryn L Parker; grandson Anthony Parker and wife Michelle; daughter-in-law Karleen (Parker) Brooker and husband Bill; Sisters-in-law, Earnestine Foster, Lagretta Lovingood; brother-in-law James Lovingood and wife Joyce; close niece Debra Carrol and many other nieces, nephews, and cousins; extended family Vicki and Larry Wilson, Wanda Mathes; and too many beloved friends to list. Howard was a graduate of Alcoa High School, class of 1944 and proudly served his country in the Army during WWII and National Guard in the Korean War. He retired from Alcoa, Inc. in 1989 and was a member of the 25 year club. He was a lifelong member of Central Baptist Church, Alcoa where he served as deacon. His first love was to God, then to family, church, and friends. Internment of ashes will be at Grandview Cemetery at 1:00 p.m., Tuesday, August 27 for friends and family. Officiating will be Rev. George Gilbert and Rev. Gary Baker. Family will receive friends from 5:30 7 p.m. Tuesday, at Central Baptist Church, Alcoa with memorial service to follow. Officiating will be Rev.
