ADKINS, Horace M., age 82 of Maryville, passed away Friday, September 9, 2005, at St. Mary’s Residential Hospice in Knoxville. He was a veteran of World War II having served with the U. S. Army in 5 major battles, the European Theater to Battle of the Bulge. He was a member of Madison Avenue Baptist Church where he taught Sunday School for 25 years, was Sunday School Director and Deacon, having received Deacon Emeritus. He was employed at Robertshaw for 39 years in supervision, was President of National Management Association, where he received the Silver Night Award for outstanding management service. He was preceded in death by two sons, Dennis Love Adkins and Charles David Adkins; sister, Wanda Webb and brother, Paul Adkins. Survivors include his wife of 63 years, Jane Love Adkins; son, Ted Adkins; daughter, Lisa Jane Hackney; brothers, Charles Adkins and David Adkins; sister, Betty London. Funeral services will be held at 7:00 p.m. Monday in McCammon-Ammons-Click Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Glenn Grubb officiating. The interment will be at 10:00 a.m. Tuesday in Middlesettlements Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6-7:00 p.m. Monday at McCammon-Ammons-Click Funeral Home, Maryville.
