Homer B. Johnston Sr.

August 15, 1913 — August 3, 2002

Homer “Brick” Johnston Sr. - of Alcoa passed away Saturday, August 3, 2002 at his home. He was a member of Clarks Grove Cumberland Presbyterian Church. He was retired from Alcoa with 41 years of service and was a member of the Alcoa 25 Year Club. Mr. Johnston was a veteran of WWII serving in the 4th Marine Division. Survivors include his wife of 59 years, Mattie Miller Johnston; sons and daughters-in-law, Homer B. “Brickey” and Donna Johnston Jr., of Knoxville, Gary M. and Dianne Johnston, of Nashville, and Dan L. and Susan Johnston, of Alcoa; grandchildren, Clint and Camran Johnston, of Nashville, Matt and Lyndi Johnston, of Korea, and Jon and Amanda Johnston, of Knoxville; great-grandchildren, Cailyn, Autumn, and Abbigail; sister, sister, Eva D. Johnston, of Louisville. Funeral services will be 2:00 P.M. Monday in McCammon-Ammons-Click Chapel with Rev. Wilburn Hoglan officiating. The interment will follow in Grandview Cemetery with full military honors. The family will receive friends Monday from 1 to 2 P.M. at the funeral home.
