Hershel Douglas Burger

Hershel Douglas Burger, age 83 of Maryville, passed away Tuesday, July 31, 2018, at Asbury Place. He was a member of Everett Hills Baptist Church, a veteran of the U. S. Army and retired from United Air Lines with 44 years of service. He was preceded in death by his parents, Hershel and Geneva Sims Burger. Survivors include his wife, Betty Clark Burger; daughter and son-in-law, Kandi and Alan Thomas; granddaughter, Briana Thomas, with whom he shared his love of airplanes and aviation; sister, Judy (Tommy) Langford; brother-in-law, Robert Clark; sister-in-law, Peggy Hamilton; niece, Michelle McPherson; several other special nieces, nephews and family friends. Family and friends will meet at 11:00 a.m. Friday, August 3, at Grandview Cemetery for a graveside service with Rev. Doug Hayes officiating.
