Herbert Cornelius Helton

July 28, 1932 — September 25, 2012

Herbert Cornelius Helton passed away peacefully in his sleep and woke up with the Lord in his eternal home on September 25, 2012. A loving and caring husband, father, grandfather and friend will be greatly missed by all that knew him. He was a veteran of the Navy serving during the Korean conflict. He graduated from Knoxville Business College with a degree in accounting and was an owner of Adverco Signs in Louisville for 20 years. He is preceded in death by his first wife, Louis Sherrod Helton and his parents, John Winfield Helton and Della Cordellia Hurst Helton, six full siblings and four half siblings. His wife, JoAnn Roback Helton; son, Dr. Gregory Herbert Helton; grandchildren, Morgan Lucas and Carlin Alyse Helton and many nieces and nephews survive him. The family will receive friends from 12:00- 1:00 p.m. Thursday, September 27, 2012 at Sherwood Mausoleum followed by an entombment service at 1:00 p.m. with the Reverend Richard Nicely officiating.
