Henry H. Linginfelter

June 18, 1938 — November 21, 2020

Henry H. Linginfelter, June 18, 1938 to November 21, 2020. The Linginfelter family is saddened to announce the passing of our beloved brother, and dear uncle, Henry H. Linginfelter. Henry passed away quietly in his home, surrounded by his family and friends on 11/21/2020.

Henry graduated from Alcoa High School in 1956, and then served in the Tennessee Air National Guard at McGhee-Tyson where his squadron was deployed active-duty to Germany for 13 months. Henry graduated from Maryville College in 1964, and then he obtained his Masters of Divinity degree from Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary in 1970, whereupon he founded his Evangelistic Association and began his work for the Lord as a full-time Evangelist. Henry served on numerous boards within the Chilhowee Baptist Association, as well as the Southern Baptist Convention during his career.

Not only was Henry our brother and uncle, he was a Beloved servant of Christ. In his 50+ years of ministry, Henry preached in over 26 states, where countless thousands were saved and baptized, led more than a dozen tours to Israel and the Holy Land, and he baptized his congregation in the Jordan River, where Jesus was baptized by John.

Henry’s impact to thousands of people, and the work he has done for the Lord shines bright to this day, and will continue to resonate throughout the years to come. Henry is going home to be with the Lord and his family and congregation already in Heaven that have preceded him. Henry will continue to soar on high, continuing the Lord’s work, and watching for his congregation yet to go home, who will join the Lord on high.

Henry is survived by his brother and sister-in-law, Ron & Kathy Linginfelter, nieces and nephews: Bill & Mitzi Linginfelter, Dan & Gloria Linginfelter, Hank & Sandy Linginfelter, and Matt Linginfelter all of Georgia; Cathy Hughes, David Hughes, and John Hughes all of Maryville, TN; John & Priscilla Linginfelter of Knoxville, TN, Todd & Janet Adams of Beth Page, TN, and Mike Linginfelter of Maryville, TN, as well as many great-nieces and great-nephews. Henry was preceded in death by his mother and father, the Rev William S. and Thelma Linginfelter, his brother and sister-in-law William S. Jr & Betty Linginfelter, and his sister and brother-in-law Ronald and Joyce Hughes.

Final arrangements for Henry are to be held at McCammon-Ammons-Click Funeral Home in Maryville, TN on Saturday, November 28, 2020, receiving friends at 2:00pm, followed by Henry’s Home Going and Celebration of Life service at 3:00pm with Dr. Steve Linginfelter, Dr. Scott Linginfelter, and Dr. Larry Pugh officiating.

The family extends our heartfelt thanks to all that have supported Henry and impacted his life in so many ways.

Henry, your family will miss your mentorship, discipleship, and humbleness, and you will always be loved.
