Henrietta Farley Hock, age 97 passed peacefully and into God’s eternal care on March 26, 2023.after a battle with Alzheimer’s. She is now forever freed from this horrible disease.
Henrietta was born to Henry and Tabytha (Gregory) Farley on May 25, 1925, in Maryville, and she resided in Maryville nearly her entire life. She was an Everett Bulldog, Class of 1943, and in the late 1940's graduated from the Post WWII Cadet Nursing Program. Henrietta met and later married the love of her life, Charles (“Charlie” or “Chuck”) Hock in 1950. With Chuck she had two daughters, and went on several sailing adventures. After Chuck’s passing in 2006, she enjoyed the company of her daughters and extended family, and attended Saint Andrews Episcopal Church “religiously”!
Henrietta was pre-deceased by her parents and both brothers, as well as her love and best friend, Chuck. She is survived by her daughters, Dr. Suzanne MacMorris (Don) of Elizabeth City, NC, and Sally Brooks (Steve) of Crestwood, KY. She left behind her grandchildren, Gwyneth Taylor (Billy) of Charlotte, NC; Collin Brooks (Heather) of Lexington, KY; and, Lacey Dixon (Adam) of Nashville, IN; as well as great-grandchildren Wrenley, Leighton and Emerson Taylor, and Addison Dixon (whose soon to be a big sister!). Also left to cherish her memory are “adopted” daughter, nephew and great-niece: Robin Worley and Beau and Jaeda Banks.
In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation to Alzheimer’s Association (particularly the TN Chapter), or to the charity of your choosing.
