GRUBB, Helen Minton, age 78, widow of Dr. Joe Morton Grubb, died Saturday, August 26, 2006, in Columbia, SC. Born in Knoxville, she was a daughter of the late Edward M. Minton and Barbara Hurst Minton. Mrs. Grubb was a graduate of the University of Tennessee where she also served as president of the Kappa Delta Sorority. She was a member of Saxe Gotha Presbyterian Church in Lexington, SC and a member of the Ruth Bible Sunday School Class at the First Baptist Church in Williamston, SC. Surviving are her children, Joel D. Grubb and wife, Tissy of St. Matthews, SC, Barbie Branham and husband, Jim of Lexington, SC, Leslie Grubb of Mooresville, NC, Janie Grubb of Lexington, SC; grandchildren, Joel Grubb, Houston Grubb, Leslie Branham, Bailey Branham, Helen Kearns, and Riley Kearns; sister, Janie M. Hill of Maryville; nieces and nephews, Eddie Hill, David Hill both of Maryville, Kathy Murphy of Dallas, TX and several great nieces and great nephews. Family and friends will meet at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday at Magnolia Cemetery for a graveside service with Rev. Robert T. Clarke, III officiating. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to a Charity of Choice, or to the Alzheimer’s Association, Eastern TN Chapter, 2200 Sutherland Avenue, Suite H102, Knoxville, TN 37919.
