Harry Lee Higdon - age 89 of Alcoa passed away Monday, September 7, 2009 at his home. He was a member of Broadway Baptist Church. He was a veteran of WWII serving in the U.S. Marine Corps 1st Marine Division in the Pacific Theater, was an avid golfer and was retired from ALCOA Aluminum with 42 years of service. He was preceded in death by his parents, John Nelson and Beulah Margaret Higdon; sister, Merle Millsaps; brother, Jackie Higdon. Survivors include his wife of 65 years, Elizabeth Higdon; daughter, Anita Jordan of Claxton; son, Mike Higdon of Alcoa; daughter, Kay Speegle and husband Jim of Seymour, son, Dennis Higdon and wife Diane of Greenback; 10 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; 1 great-great-grandson; brother, Lamar Higdon and wife Willadean of Maryville; several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be 8:00 P.M. Wednesday in McCammon-Ammons-Click Chapel with Rev. David Webster officiating. The interment will be 10:00 A.M. Thursday at Grandview Cemetery. The family will receive friends Wednesday from 6:00 to 8:00 P.M. at McCammon-Ammons-Click Funeral Home, Maryville 982-6812
