Harry J. Alheid

Harry J. Alheid, age 84, of Maryville, passed away on December 31, 2009, after a short illness. Mr. Alheid was a District Manager for Prudential Insurance Company at Pittsford, New York, until his retirement 29 years ago. He also worked as a Vice President of Prudential Insurance Company at Boston, Massachusetts. Mr. Alheid served in the Pacific during World War II where he earned six battle stars. He was a past Master of the Masonic Lodge in Syracuse, New York, and he was a member of the VFW. Mr. Alheid enjoyed traveling, college football, golf, and most of all, his family- including his wife, children and grandchildren. Mr. Alheid truely never met a stranger as his many friends would attest. He was “Poppy” to his grandchildren and he will be missed by all, but certainly by his family most. He is survived by his wife of 63 years, Tina, his children, Suzanne A. Tardio and her husband James; Harry John Alheid and his wife Stephanie; his four grandchildren, Christopher Tardio, Jessica Tardio Cullen (Corey), Hayes Justin Alheid, and Caley Alheid. Private family services were held at McCammon Ammons-Click Funeral Home, Maryville, with entombment at Sherwood Memorial Gardens Mausoleum. Father J. B. Shelton officiated. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to the World War Two Memorial, 2300 Clarendon Blvd, Suite 501, Arlington, VA 22201, or the Susan G.
