Harriette Vongremp Lee

Harriette vonGremp Lee of Maryville died on Tuesday, Dec. 11, 2018 at Asbury Place Retirement Center. Born September 3, 1917 in St. Charles, Mo., she was the daughter of the late Dr. Clay C. and Orpha B. von Gremp. She attended Agnes Scott College and graduated from Texas Womens University in Home Economics. She completed her internship in Dietetics at Vanderbilt University, and then taught there for 2 additional years. She worked as a Dietician for Blount Memorial Hospital and as a consultant for several years. She served on several golf committees with the Knox Area Womens Golf Assoc. and was a long time member of the American Association of University Women. Harriette was a member of Broadway United Methodist Church for over 70 yrs. She is survived by her husband of 75 years, Ben H. Lee and 2 children and their spouses; Roberta J. (Robin) Lee Goddard (James E. Goddard) of Maryville and Ben David Lee (Priscilla C. Lee) of Brentwood, TN. She is also survived by two granddaughters, Noel Goddard and Ginny Lee. She was preceded in death by her parents and sister, Roberta Heaton. Family graveside services will be held at Grandview Cemetery. A Celebration of her Life will be held at a later date.
