Harrell R. Coulter, 81, departed this life on Wednesday, May 27, 2009. He died at home surrounded by his family. Born on August 18, 1927. He was preceded in death by parents, Fred and Vina Coulter; sister, Mary Francis Caughron; brother, Jim Coulter. Harrell was a teacher, principal, and basketball coach for 35 years before retiring in 1997. He was a dedicated coach that was always proud of his team. Harrell graduated from Maryville College and received his Masters Degree from The University of Tennessee, Knoxville. He also served 4 years in the United States Navy and was a member of Monte Vista Baptist Church. He is survived by his loving and devoted wife of 34 years, Mary A. Coulter; daughter, Della Ann Cowan of Maryville; stepchildren, Vickie Stephens (Gary) of Oak Ridge, Jana Webb (Zeke) of Knoxville, Scott Webb (Linda) of Maryville; special niece, Judy Vaughn Enloe; five grandchildren; sister, Sara Margaret Depew of Maryville; brother, Darrell Coulter of Maryville; and several nieces and nephews. The family would like to thank the community for the support that was given. A special thanks to John Landers, a loyal friend during this time. The family would like to thank Blount Memorial Hospice for all of the help and support given, with a special thanks to Jesse. Funeral services will be at 7:00 p.m. Friday in McCammon-Ammons-Click Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Jerry Mantooth, Rev. Bob Dalton and Scott Webb officiating. The interment will be at 10:00 a.m. Saturday in Grandview Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6-7:00 p.m. Friday at McCammon-Ammons-Click Funeral Home, Maryville.
