Harold Spradling Leatherwood, age 91, of Maryville, passed away Monday, September 7, 2015 at his home. He was a respected carpenter and home builder in Maryville for many years. He enjoyed wood working, gardening and being outdoors. He was a WW II veteran serving in the U. S. Army from 1943-1946. He was a wonderful husband and father and was a member of Carpenter's Campground United Methodist Church in Maryville. Preceded in death by parents, Abe and Pearl Leatherwood; sister, Beth Clark. Survivors include wife of 67 years, Marie Leatherwood; son and daughter-in-law, Gary and Leslie Leatherwood; grandchildren, Kent (Amanda) Leatherwood and Neal Leatherwood; great grandson, Brooks Leatherwood; brother and sister-in-law, Allen and Betty Leatherwood; many nieces, nephews and other family members also survive. The family and friends will assemble for a graveside service at 2:00 p.m. Thursday, September 10, 2015, at Carpenter's Campground United Methodist Church Cemetery with Rev. Peggy Meade officiating. In lieu of flowers, gifts/memorials may be made to the Carpenter's Campground United Methodist Church Cemetery Fund. Finally, a special thanks to Avalon Hospice: caregivers, Patty, Cathy, Randy and Mary - you are true angels of God.
