H. Jean Borden went to be with her heavenly Father and family on Jan. 14, 2012. She departed peacefully at home. Leaving her daughter LeAnn Borden Graves and husband Curtis; granddaughters Indianna and Ava; Sisters, Willie K. Harmon of Friendsville and Mary Brooks of Greenback. Extended Son-in-law Bill Buckner and grandchildren Andrew ( Kristin ) Buckner and Angela (Allan ) King. Several very special nieces and nephews. Jean was born on March 8, 1935 in Loudon County Tennessee to the late Henry and Gladys Morton. She was married to the late James A. Borden for almost fifty love filled years. Also proceeding in death was son, James Larry Borden, daughter in-law Deborah Hill Borden Buckner and sister Martha Ernestine Kyker. She graduated from Friendsville High School and went on to graduate highest in the class from Knox General School of Nursing. Jean was employed at The University of Tennessee Hospital and Blount Memorial Hospital for seventeen dedicated years. She then decided to leave nursing to co-found and assist her husband James at Bordens Appliance Service until reaching retirement. We take comfort in knowing she is now with Jesus and the loved ones gone before. Jean's devout example of faith, Christ like image, generosity and gentle ways never wavered. Her sweet smile greeted everyone. Friends and family will gather at l:45p.m. Monday at Grandview Cemetery for a 2p.m. graveside service with Rev. Keith Johnson officiating.
