Grace Mccammon Estabrook

July 10, 1919 — July 6, 2011

Grace Estabrook, formerly of Maryville, passed away on July 6, 2011. She was 91 years old and was four days short of turning her 92nd birthday. She was a resident of West Palm Beach County in Florida. She graduated from Everett High School in 1937 and she thoroughly enjoyed attending class reunions for several years. She was a graduate of Maryville College and received her masters degree from the University of Tennessee. She was a school teacher in her early years and taught in Ohio and also at Friendsville, TN. She was a physicist at the Oak Ridge National Laboratory. In later years, Grace was an accountant. She was blessed to be a world traveler. She sang in the Sweet Adelines and she got to sing at Carnegie Hall in New York. She enjoyed singing in her church choir and did so until the latter years of her life. When Grace was young, she helped her father and her brother with their milk route called Southside Dairy in Maryville. Grace enjoyed visiting Kentucky and being with her brother and nephew and helping them farm. She also enjoyed traveling with her brother and niece and her husband. She was very outgoing and had a true grit attitude towards life. She was a member of First Presbyterian Church in Tequesta, Florida. She was preceded in death by parents, T. C. and Wilma McCammon; her husband, Jack Estabrook; her brother, Harold C. McCammon. Survivors include sister-in-law, Dorothy McCammon of Rockford, TN; nephew, Shannon McCammon and wife Susan of Russellville, KY; niece, Lou Ann Kirkland and husband Charles of Maryville; great niece, Shanna Meyers and husband Kelly of Lexington, KY; great niece, Erin Patrick and husband Shawn of Knoxville, TN; great niece, Rebecca Kurk and husband James of Paris, KY. She also had a great great niece and nephew, Emerson Meyers of Lexington, KY and Fisher Patrick of Knoxville. Family and friends will meet at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, July 9, 2011, at Grandview Cemetery in Maryville for a graveside service with Rev. Jimmy Guider officiating.
