Gladys Margaret Endsley McKinsey went to her heavenly home on her 89th birthday, March 16, 2019. Preceded in death by husband George McKinsey Jr.; daughter Micki Whitehead, and son in law Paul Watlington, Parents Allen and Delia Wolfe Endsley; brothers and sisters, Chester, Lester and Raymond Endsley, Clara Rathbone, Ila McKenzie, Mary Amburn, D.H. Dunlap, Clarence Key, Mae Lambert and Bill Key. Survived by Children Vicki Watlington, Betsy (Sam) Ganglani, Mike (Linda) McKinsey and Melissa (Steve) Davis; Grandchildren, Lynn (Jessica) Whitehead, Matt Whitehead, Shannon (Jess) Gamble, Samantha Ganglani, Monica (Chase) Tipton and George Ganglani.; Great Grandchildren: Arianna, Nevaeh, Justice, Savannah, James and Truett; Sister Barbara Rusterholz of Indiana. Gladys was a faithful member of Carpenters United Methodist Church as well as a long standing member of the Blount County Republican Executive Committee and the Smoky Mountain Walking Horse Association. She worked in the elections for over 40 years and was once active in the American Legion Post 13 Womens Auxiliary poppy distribution, Memorial Day program and the Boys and Girls State program. She was a member of the Eastern Band of Cherokee Indians. She was a great cook known for her pies and home cooking. She had a knack for winning contests; she won 2 cars along with numerous other things. Gladys worked the crossword daily in both newspapers and timed herself. She was an avid watcher of Jeopardy and Wheel of Fortune. She loved her family, flowers, bird watching and Cades Cove. Special thanks and love to Judy Quinton and Robin Payne. Donations may be made to Carpenters United Methodist Church, 3538 Best Road, Maryville, TN 37803. Funeral Services will be Friday, 3/22/19 @ 7pm with the Reverend Kenny Tucker officiating. The family will receive friends Friday, 4:30pm to 7 pm with internment at 11:00am at Grandview Cemetery on Saturday. Meet at the funeral home at 10:30 for processional.
