Gertrude Ruth Turpin

Gertrude R. Turpin, born April 7, 1920 went to be with Jesus July 6, 2010. Loved by all who knew her. A special Momma and Mamaw who will be greatly missed. A true “Mother” who spent her life loving, nurturing and guiding her family. Her Lord and her family were the most important things in her life and what she lived for. Preceded in death by husband, Clyde Turpin and son, Donald Ray Turpin, Sr.; five sisters and six brothers. Survived by daughters, Jean Long, Sweetwater; Nancy Louise Webb, Maryville; Elizabeth Parsons and husband Don, Maryville, Wanda Jo Long and husband Harold, Sevierville, Shirley Hartness and husband Harold, Knoxville and Phyllis Howard, Maryville; brother, James Green, Maryville; sisters, Charlotte Crisp, Maryville and Carolyn Brown, Nashville; seventeen grandkids, twenty-one great grandkids, two great great grandkids and several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be at 7:00 p.m. Thursday in McCammon-Ammons-Click Funeral Home Chapel with The Rev. Junior Gardner officiating. Family and friends will meet at the funeral home at 10:15 a.m. Friday to proceed to Magnolia Cemetery for an 11:00 a.m. interment service.
