Geraldine Nelson Shamblin

Geraldine "Geri" Nelson Shamblin - age 89 of Maryville passed away Saturday, April 29, 2017 at her home. She was born August 26, 1927 in Maryville, TN. The daughter of William Warren Nelson and Nellie Frances Farr Nelson. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her sister, Lillian Hurst; brother, Howard "Doby" Nelson; sisters-in-law, Penny Nelson, Judy Shamblin, Meredith Jordan and Margaret King; brothers-in-law, Sim Hurst, Hubert Burns and Allan Jordan. She is survived by her loving husband of 68 years, Crowder Shamblin; daughters, Sharon Holder and husband Bill, Becky Deck and husband Steve; grandchildren, Tammy Simpson and husband Kenny, Darren Holder and wife Amy; step-granddaughter, Shelby Deck Kirby and husband Mike; great-grandchildren, Garrett Blair, Dawson Simpson, Dalton Holder and Courtney Holder; great-step-grandson, Gray Kirby; sister, Helen Burns; brothers-in-law, Vernon and Carl Shamblin; several nieces and nephews; her best furry friend, Lucky. She was a member of First Cumberland Presbyterian Church in Maryville. She was a very loving and caring person who loved her family, friends and her church. The family will receive friends Tuesday from 11:00 until 12:30 at McCammon-Ammons-Click Funeral Home. Graveside services will follow at 1:00 p.m at Grandview Cemetery with Rev. Ronald Longmire officiating. Memorials may be made to First Cumberland Presbyterian Church Maryville or to Blount Memorial Hospice.
