Geraldine L. Cross

CROSS, Geraldine L., age 88 of Maryville, died Tuesday, January 8, 2002, at Blount Memorial Hospital. She was a member of Fairview United Methodist Church where she was a member of the Willing Workers Sunday School Class, she was a 50 Year Member of the Order of the Eastern Star and has worked in the shoe business for years. She was preceded in death by her husband, William E. Cross; parents, James R. and Martha Elizabeth White Bailes; sisters, Eva, and Mary Ellen; brothers, James Ralph, Walter, Howard, H. Kenneth, Lynn, Carl R. and H. L. Survivors include: daughter and son-in-law, Judy and Jim Wilkerson; three special grandsons, Jimmy and wife Mari, Ted and Kurt; 2 great grandchildren, Stewart and Hunter Wilkerson; one sister, Eleanor Everett; two brothers, Frank “Red” Bailes and wife Virginia, Robert W. Bailes and wife Barbara; sister-in-law, Marcene Bailes; several nieces and nephews; special friend, Gladys McKinsey. Funeral services will be held at 8:00 p.m. Thursday at Fairview United Methodist Church with Dr. Jerry Russell and Dr. James Bailes officiating. Family and friends will meet at 10:00 a.m. Friday at Sherwood Memorial Gardens for the interment service. The family will receive friends from 6:30-8:00 p.m. Thursday at the Church. Grandsons, great grandson, nephew, Robbie Bailes and great nephew, Greg Porter will serve as Pall Bearers. The family suggests that memorials be made to the Organ Fund at Fairview United Methodist Church, 2505 Old Niles Ferry Road, Maryville, TN 37803.
