Gerald Patrick Morgan

February 18, 1940 — December 16, 2013

Gerald Patrick Morgan, age 73 of Maryville, passed away Monday, December 16, 2013, at Sweetwater Hospital. He was a very dedicated member of Mt. Lebanon Baptist Church, and a proud U. S. Army Veteran having retired as Sgt. Major with 25 years of service. He did tours in Korea, Germany and Vietnam and received a Bronze Star Medal. He was a Mason and a long standing member of Mt. Moriah Two Bridges Nahe # 823, he loved fishing and bowling early in life and was genuinely philanthropic. He was preceded in death by his wife, Joyce Lail Morgan; sons, Michael R. Morgan and Robert W. Bradley; grandson, Patrick Bradley; parents, Samuel A. and Elease Herring Morgan; brothers, Samuel, Alfred, Earl and Mark Morgan. Survivors include his daughters, Karen Dail and husband Tommy, Laura Loranger and husband Ray, Brenda Arthur and husband Mike and their mother, Gloria Morgan; daughter, Stephanie Morgan; loving ex-wife, Betty A. Morgan; grandchildren, Amanda, Elizabeth, and James Dail, Elease and Ray Loranger, Brandon and Ryan Cook and Christian Morgan; sister, Thelma Wilkerson and husband Don. Funeral services will be at 6:30 p.m. Thursday in McCammon-Ammons-Click Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Raymond Burnett officiating. Family and friends will meet at 2:00 p.m. Friday at Sherwood Memorial Gardens for the interment service. The family will receive friends from 5:30-6:30 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.
