George Washington Ledford

George Washington Ledford, age 101 of Alcoa, passed away Sunday, March 4, 2018, at Morningview. He was a member of First Baptist Church of Alcoa and worked for ALCOA for 42 years. He was preceded in death by his mother, Laura Miller Ledford; sisters, Lana and Elva; brother, Randolph Ledford; nephew, Kenneth Burns. Survivors include his wife of 75 years, Marie Ledford; nieces, Virginia Barger and Stella Hurst; nephew, Rankin Burns. The family will receive friends from 1-2:00 p.m. Wednesday, March 7, in Sherwood Mausoleum Chapel with the funeral service to follow at 2:00 p.m. with Rev. Matt Giles officiating. The entombment will follow in the Mausoleum. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to your favorite charity.
