George Wallace Taylor

George Wallace Taylor, age 84 of Maryville, passed away Monday, September 21, 2015, at the Ben Atchley State Veterans Home. He was a member of Madison Avenue Baptist Church, where he had a passion for prayer and missions. George served in the U. S. Air Force during the Korean Conflict, was recalled to active duty for the Berlin Crisis and retired from the Tennessee ANG. He was preceded in death by his wife, Molly Taylor; parents, Lamar and Jonnie Taylor, brothers, James Edward, Lamar, Jr., Darrell and Larry Taylor. Survivors include his daughter and son-in-law, Deb and Jay Schablik of Maryville; grandchildren, Erin (Gwen) Schablik and Jayson (Whitney) Schablik; special friend, Linda Boring of Louisville; sister, Virginia Lewis of Maryville; brother, Charles Taylor of Maryville; several nieces, nephews, brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law. The family thanks the staffs of Shannondale of Maryville, the Ben Atchley State Veterans Home and Amedisys Hospice for the outstanding and compassionate care George received. Funeral services will be at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, October 3, 2015, at Madison Avenue Baptist Church, with Dr. Glenn Cummings officiating. The family will be available in the Sanctuary after the service.
