George W. Burns

April 28, 1926 — October 21, 2018

George W. Burns, 92, of Louisville went home to be with the Lord at his home on October 21, 2018. He was a long-time member of St. Marks United Methodist Church, a World War II Navy veteran and an Alcoa retiree. His parents, Ewing and Ressie Mae Burns, four sisters, four brothers and great grandson James Weston Smith, preceded him in death. Survivors include Zola Russell Burns, his wife of 71 years, and children Brenda Smith (Weston) and Gary Burns (Linda); grandchildren Adam, Nathan, Philip and Andrew Smith, Lydia Towe, Morgan and Matthew Burns and 11 great grandchildren. Also survived by loving family members Phyllis Chambers, Gail Gillespie, Marcy Williams and several nieces and nephews. Visitation is 5pm-7pm on Thursday October 25 at McCammon-Ammons-Click Funeral Home with a service officiated by Reverend Curtis McKee to immediately follow. In lieu of flowers, please donate to St. Marks United Methodist Church Compassion Fund at PO Box 37 Louisville, TN 37777.
