ONKS, George Henry, age 81 of Louisville, passed away Tuesday, February 17, 2004, at Blount Memorial Hospital. He attended Cornerstone Fellowship Church, was a veteran of the U. S. Army Air Corp having served during World War II, was retired from ALCOA, and a member of the 25 Year Service Club. He was former owner of Onks Grocery in Louisville and Maryville Produce. Mr. Onks was preceded in death by his wife, Vondell Drake Onks; son, Ricky Onks; parents, Hobert and Lena DeVault Onks and brother, Ernest Onks. Survivors include his sons and daughters-in-law, Dexter and Sherri Onks and Steve and Phyllis Onks all of Louisville; daughter, Lisa Loope of Louisville; daughter-in-law, Diane Onks of Powell; 11 grandchildren; 3 great grandchildren; brother and sister-in-law, Cloyd and Bonnie Onks of North Vernon, IN; sister and brother-in-law, LaUna and Hugh Hamil of Louisville; sister-in-law, Barbara Onks of Cookeville, TN; life long friend, Phillip Marshall of Louisville; friend, Kevin Loope of Louisville. Funeral services will be held at 7:00 p.m. Friday in McCammon-Ammons-Click Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Floyd Oliver, Rev. Phillip Marshall and Rev. Gordon Robinson officiating. Family and friends will meet at 11:00 a.m. Saturday at Louisville Cemetery for the interment service.
