Geneva Mash James age 94 of Maryville passed away Friday, July 29, 2016 at Blount Memorial Hospital. Geneva was preceded in death by her loving husband, George Washington James; father, George W. Mash; mother, Annie Mae Litton Mash; eight brothers and sisters. Geneva's three children loved and adored her; George Carroll James and Malinda James Murchie of Maryville, TN and Janice James Holt of Myrtle Beach, SC. Her grandchildren were her pride and joy; Tim James, April James, Jimmy Murchie, Jennifer Murchie Kelly, and Rusty Holt. Geneva had pride in her great-grandchildren as well; Sydney James, Connor James, Katie Kelly, and Jack Kelly. Geneva's active life included The Rook Club, The Garden Club, and volunteer service as a Pink Lady at Blount Memorial Hospital. Geneva was born in Maury County, TN. She graduated from Hampshire High School near Columbia, TN. She met George James when he was serving in the US military and later, they decided to move back to Maryville, TN. She and George were devoted members of Eusebia Presbyterian Church. Geneva James will be laid to rest beside her husband of thirty-eight years in Eusebia's Cemetery. Since December 27, 2006, Geneva called Asbury Place Assisted Living in Maryville, TN her home. She was always treated with love and respect. Administrator Carla Rafferty and Lead Nurse Jennifer Kirkland were like her own children. She will be leaving so many of her Asbury beloved friends. The family will receive friends Tuesday, August 2, at McCammon-Ammons-Click Funeral Home from 6:00 to 7:00 P.M. Family and friends will meet 10:00 A.M. Wednesday for a graveside service at Eusebia Presbyterian Church Cemetery with Pastor Cliff Amos officiating.
