Geneva M. Carpenter Smith

December 15, 1919 — January 12, 2015

Geneva M. Carpenter Smith, age 95, passed away Monday, January 12, 2015, at her home in Maryville. She was a member of Madison Avenue Baptist Church and grew up in the Carpenters Community. Preceded in death by her husband, Paul E. Smith; parents, James M. and Eugenia Hannah Carpenter; brothers, Clinton and Milton Carpenter; sister, Lucille Carpenter Crye. Survivors include her sons and daughters-in-law, Gary D. and Becky Lawson of Kalamazoo, MI, Tony R. and Sandy Lawson of Maryville, David L. and Mary Lawson of Louisville; several step children; grandchildren, Christopher Lawson and Michael Auringer; 3 great grandchildren; several step grandchildren and several step great grandchildren; several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be at 2:00 p.m. Thursday in McCammon-Ammons-Click Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Larry Best officiating. The interment will follow in Carpenters Campground Cemetery.
