Gene E. Mcconnell

Gene McConnell, age 77, of Maryville, passed away on Thursday, September 20, 2012. He was a member of First Baptist Church of Alcoa and Gideons International. He was also member of the Scottish Rite Masonic Lodge and the ALCOA twenty-five year club. He was a veteran of the Air National Guard serving during the Berlin Crisis. He was preceded in death by his mother, Kezia McConnell, father, Clint McConnell, and infant son, Jeffrey McConnell. Survivors include wife of 54 years, Mary Lynn McConnell; son and daughter-in-law, Brad and Allie McConnell; daughter and son-in-law, Gena and Harold Damron; grandchildren, Jordan and Rebekah Damron and Alex and Andrew Rainwater; brother-in-law and sisters-in-law, Bob and Gail Ailey and Ann Pierce; niece and nephews; special friends Jack and Delores Renfro and Bobby and Mary Nick. The family will receive friends from 5 p.m. until 7 p.m. on Saturday, September 22, 2012, at McCammon-Ammons-Click Funeral Home with the funeral service to follow. Family and friends will meet on Sunday, September 23, 2012, at 2:00 p.m. at Ellejoy Baptist Church Cemetery for the graveside service.
