GARNER, Gary Allen, age 46 of Maryville, passed away Sunday, October 13, 2002, at Blount Memorial Hospital. He was of the Baptist Faith, was a 1974 graduate of Friendsville High School, discharged with honorable discharge from the U. S. Navy after serving from 1981-1988 and was retired from the U. S. Postal Service. He was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, Sumarros Einarsdottir and Gudmundur Olafson of Iceland; paternal grandparents, Arthur and Stella Garner; uncles, Fred Garner and Earl Poplin; several aunts and uncles in Iceland. Survivors include: wife, Loretta Kim Garner; son, Christopher Allen Garner; mother, Soley Garner; father and stepmother, Glenn T. and Betty Garner; sister and brother-in-law, Rosa G. and Phillip Clure; brother and sister-in-law, Ronald L. and Leony Garner; niece and husband, Tana Clure Gose and Mike Gose; nephews, Mitch Clure, Ronald L. Garner, Jr. and Thomas A. Garner all of Maryville; mother-in-law, Betty Karaginides of California; father-in-law, Harry Karaginides of Alaska; brothers-in-law, Steven Karaginides and family of California, Ted Karaginides and family of Missouri; sister-in-law, Pamela Williamson and family of California; special friends, Ted Harris, Bill Damron both of Mentor and Tom (T.J.) Nequette of Georgia. Funeral services will be held at 8:00 p.m. Wednesday in McCammon-Ammons-Click Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Steve Poplin officiating. A military graveside service, provided by the Volunteer Honor Guard, will be held at 9:30 a.m. Thursday in the TN Veterans Cemetery in Knoxville The family will receive friends from 6:30-8:00 p.m. Wednesday at McCammon-Ammons-Click Funeral Home.
