MAPLES, French John, age 75 of Maryville, passed away Monday March 12, 2007 at Blount Memorial Hospital. He was a veteran of Korea, having served with the U. S. Marines and the U. S. Army. He was an avid, fisherman, golfer, billiard player and enjoyed woodworking. He was preceded in death by his first wife, Judith Maples; parents, Mack and Ethel Maples; sister, Dorothy Harris; brothers, Ernie and Elmer Maples. Survivors include his wife, Helen Jean Maples of Maryville; son and daughter-in-law, Dan and Alicia Maples of Cooksville, MD; granddaughter, Hannah Maples of Cooksville, MD; stepsons, Robert Archer, Jeff Archer, Alan Archer all of Maryville; step grandchildren, Damen, Josh, Danielle, Adam and Ryan Archer all of Maryville; sisters, Ruth Caldwell of Maryville, Ann Staley of Alcoa; brother, Ralph Maples of Maryville; several nieces and nephews; very special friend, Kaye Archer of Friendsville. Family and friends will meet at 10:00 a.m. Thursday at Clark’s Grove Cemetery for a graveside service with Rev. Dean Jennings officiating.
