Waggoner, Frederick Lowry, who was born on July 14, 1929 in Maryville, the youngest of 4 children, died on Tuesday, September 2, 2008, at his home. He graduated from Maryville High School where he played football and tennis, and was the President of his Senior Class. He graduated from the University of Tennessee in 1951. He joined his father and older brother at Waggoners Insurance. He founded Chilhowee Trailer Sales, Inc. In 1964 where all three of his children now work. He married Troy Belle Lane in December of 1949. They had 3 children, Leland, Patricia and Fred, Jr., He was very active in his community. He was president of the Maryville-Alcoa Jaycees. He then went on to be elected State Jaycee President, where he became known as “Fat Freddieâ€. He later served as the National Director of the Jaycee organization. Fred was Scout Master of Troop 81. He was a member of First Baptist Church in Maryville. He was President of the Chamber of Commerce, the United Way and headed the District 16 Cancer Crusade. He served on the Board of Directors of Blount National Bank, Bank of East Tennessee, Bank First and BB&T. He was instrumental in helping start the “Big Orange Caravanâ€, and loved traveling with the U.T. coaches throughout the state playing golf and promoting the Tennessee Vols. He was a wonderful husband and father, and an inspirational role model to everyone who knew him. He was preceded in death by his parents, Blanche Proffitt Waggoner and A. B. Waggoner, Sr.; brothers, Leland T. Waggoner and A. B. Waggoner, Jr.; and wife, Troy Belle Lane Waggoner. He is survived by his sons, Leland T. Waggoner and Fred Waggoner, Jr.; his daughter, Patricia Waggoner Huddleston. He was devoted to his grandchildren, Christopher Ferguson and wife Kathy, Vashon Ferguson and wife Rebecca, Rik Huddleston and wife Melanie, Tammy Huddleston and Tommy Huddleston. He has 4 great-grandchildren, Haley, Emma and Grace Ferguson and Cody Huddleston, who was the light of his lift. He sister and brother-in-law, Miriam and Jimmy Heiskell live in Atlanta, GA. Fred was a wonderful man who will be greatly missed by all who knew him. A memorial service will be held at 7:30 p.m. Friday in McCammon-Ammons-Click Funeral Home Chapel with Dr. John Franklin officiating. Family and friends will meet at 10:00 a.m. Saturday at Sherwood Memorial Gardens for the interment service. The family will receive friends from 6-7:30 p.m. Friday at McCammon-Ammons-Click Funeral Home, Maryville. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Blount Memorial Hospice, 1095 E. Lamar Alexander Parkway, Maryville, TN 37804.
