COOK, Fred James, age 82 of Maryville, passed away Friday, March 29, 2002, at Blount Memorial Hospital. He was a member and deacon of Allegheny Baptist Church. He was preceded in death by a daughter, Wilma Jane Cook; parents, Jim W. and Mary Summey Cook; twin sister, Lena Mitchell; sister, Della Overstreet; brother, Sam Cook; granddaughters, Rita Roseann Cook and Jessica Marie Cook; nephew, Jimmy Marley. Survivors include his wife of 59 years, Esther Cook of Maryville; sons and daughters-in-law, James and Thresea Cook, Jerry and Edna Cook, Eddie and Faye McDaniel all of Maryville; son, Fred R. Cook of Maryville; daughters, Linda Cook, Dorothy Davis both of Maryville; daughters and sons-in-law, Christine and Bob Van Dyke of Tampa, FL, Ella and Kenny Herron and Freda and Stephen Hamby all of Maryville; grandchildren, Susie Clems, Jerry Cook, Jr., Taylor Herron, Tina Cook, Stephen Hamby, II, Joney Crowder and Sarah Hamby; step grandchildren, Kristy Gibbs and Marty and Rusty Rogers; 7 great grandchildren; brothers, Bob Cook and Everett Cook; sisters, Edith Cook, Mildred Scarbrough and Pearl Breeden; sister-in-law, Helen Cook of Maryville. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Sunday in McCammon-Ammons-Click Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Doug Patton and Rev. Terry Nelson officiating. The interment will follow in West Emory Cemetery in Knoxville. The family will receive friends from 1-2:00 p.m. Sunday at McCammon-Ammons-Click Funeral, Maryville.
