Fred H. Hitch, 77 of Louisville, died December 18, 2011, at Blount Memorial Hospital. Preceded in death by his mother, Lena Long Hitch; father, Joe Roy Hitch; brother, Glen Hitch; sister, Eva Lee Davis. Survivors include his wife, Maxine Hitch; daughters and spouses, Connie and Randy Hooper; Kim and Phil Abbott; and grandchildren, Milea and Drew Ownby, Kacie Abbott, and Chelsea and Brad Stevenson of Virginia Beach; great grandchildren, Bryson and Paisley Ownby; brother and sister-in-law, Joe E. and Louise Hitch, Knoxville; sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law, Willia and Don Lang, Wanda and Dale Quiett, Nevern Walker, Betty Tallent, Roger Tallent, Teresa and Don Patty; several nieces and nephews, and the many children they cared for over the years, all his Hardees and classmate friends. A special thank you to Dr. Kubota and his staff for 8 years of special care. Thank you to all the doctors and nurses at Blount Memorial Hospital that cared for him and us over the past two weeks. Funeral services will be at 7:30 p.m. Wednesday at First Baptist Church of Alcoa with Rev. Freeman Tomlin officiating. The family will receive friends from 6-7:30 p.m. Wednesday at the Church.
