Fred E. Smith, age 80 of Maryville, passed away Tuesday, March 1, 2005, at Blount Memorial Hospital. He was a member of Wildwood Baptist Church, was a veteran of World War II having served in the U. S. Navy and was a 33 year teamster with Knoxville Local 519. He was preceded in death by his wife of 57 years, Beulah Mae Estes Smith. Survivors include his daughter and son-in-law, Gail and John Hughes of Maryville; sons and daughters-in-law, Larry and Linda Smith of Kingsport, Brian and Janet Smith of Maryville and Dennis and Patty Smith of Kennesaw, GA; special adopted daughter, Patty Long of Maryville; grandchildren, Nicole, Kristin, Marie, Michael Daniel, Brady, Laykin, Dr. Mark Hughes, Kim Agee; great grandchildren, Jaiden, Jamison, Emma, and Keeana; brothers, Willard Smith of Knoxville and Perry Smith of Lenoir City; several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held at 8:00 p.m. Friday in McCammon-Ammons-Click Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. David Webster and Rev. Bobby Pettitt officiating. The interment will be at 11:00 a.m. Saturday in Sherwood Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends from 6-8:00 p.m. Friday at McCammon-Ammons-Click Funeral Home, Maryville.
