Frances Evelyn French Hill, age 87, died Saturday, December 30, 2017, at Williamsburg Villas, Knoxville, TN. She was preceded in death by her husband, Norman Grover Hill, daughter, Angela Mary Hill, parents, Johnson (Jack) and Katherine (Kate) Gregg French. Survivors include her children, Andrea Hill Scott and husband Grady, David Norman Hill and wife Carol, grandchildren, Daniel Dennis Saltarelli, Dominick David Saltarelli, Katie Cecile Hill Beeler and husband Travis, and Lindsay Marie Hill. Frances was a graduate of Friendsville Academy, University of Tennessee, and Lincoln Memorial University. She was principal of Friendsville Academy and taught kindergarten for many years at Friendsville Elementary School. She was a life-long member of Friendsville Friends Meeting, teaching Sunday School and Vacation Bible School, playing the piano, leading and singing in the choir. She sang with the womens choral group, Rejoice, for a number years, and taught piano in her retired years. The life she led was an example to many as how one should live their Christian life. Visitation with family and friends will be on Tuesday, January 2, 2018 from 10:30 to 12:00 at Friendsville Friends Meeting, Friendsville, TN., with funeral service to follow at 12:00. Interment will be immediately after in the Friendsville Friends Cemetery. Former student and missionary with New Tribes Missions, Jack Housley will officiate. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Alzheimers Association, www.alztennessee.org Open visitation may be made at your convenience Sunday and Monday.
