Florence Jenkins Taylor

TAYLOR, Florence Jenkins, age 82, formerly of Maryville passed away Saturday September 15, 2007 at The Pallative Care and Hospice House of Catawba in Newton, NC with family and friends at her bedside. The staff of Hospice House described Florence as having a quick smile and a wonderful sense of humor which made her one of their favorite residents. She was preceded in death by her parents, Henry Clay and Emma Powell Jenkins; step-mother, Arbutus Marie Jenkins; daughter, Sharroyn Nix; granddaughter, Kasandra Graves; brother and sister-in-law, Arthur and Virgie Jenkins; sisters-in-law, Mabel Jenkins and Geraldine Jenkins. She is survived by her son, Curtis Wayne Baker; son and daughter-in-law, James and Diane Baker; daughter, Hellen Doucet; daughter and son-in-law, Debbie and Dr. Bruce Roberts; grandchildren, Katherine (Lucas) Sellars of Clinton, TN, James Baker, Jr. of Newton, NC, Michael Baker of Newton, NC, Richard Strickland of Jacksonville, FL, Michelle Alexander of Newton, NC, Milton Suggs of Maryville, and Natasha (Matthew) Huffstetler of Maryville; thirteen great-grandchildren; brothers, Charles Jenkins of Aston, PA, G.W. Jenkins of Murfreesboro, TN and Kenneth Jenkins of Maryville and many beloved nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be Wednesday September 19, 2007 at 10 A.M. in McCammon-Ammons-Click Chapel with Dr. Ted Mace officiating. The interment will follow in Louisville Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 7-8 P.M. Tuesday September 18 at McCammon-Ammons-Click Funeral Home.
