Flora Pauline Thomason

FLORA PAULINE (BOYD) THOMASON, age 83 of Rockford, TN, passed away peacefully Thursday, October 10, 2024 at UT Medical Center in Knoxville, TN after a brief illness. She was born and raised in Blount County. She attended Knoxville Business College and worked for a time as a medical transcriptionist. She worked for a short time in Washington D.C. where she met her husband. She married her husband Vernon Thomason on December 1, 1964, and they shared almost 60 years of adventures together, living several places around the country before moving back to Rockford.

Flora was preceded in death by her parents Wade Lester and Gladys Marie Hall Boyd, and her brother William Rex Boyd. She is survived by her husband Vernon Thomason of Rockford, TN; daughter Beverly Thomason of Knoxville, TN; daughter and son-in-law Karen and Gary Goff of Mandan, ND; two brothers and sisters-in-law Alvin and Chris Boyd of Maryville, TN, Lawrence and Barbara Boyd of Rockford, TN; sister and brother-in-law Linda and Larry Crum of Walland, TN; sister-in-law Jeannine Thomason of San Antonio, TX; two grandchildren Austen and Isaac Goff of Mandan, ND; several nieces and nephews.

Services will be held on Thursday, October 17, 2024 at McCammon Ammons Funeral Home, Maryville, TN. Family and friends are invited to a visitation from 5:00-6:00 pm, and a memorial service will be held at 6:00 pm at the funeral home.  A private burial of ashes will be held at a later date at Grandview Cemetery, Maryville, TN.
