Evelyn W. Mcdaniel

Evelyn Williams McDaniel, age 86 of Maryville, passed away on December 31, 2008 at Colonial Hills Nursing Center. Evelyn is survived by her daughters Laurie Elizabeth McDaniel and Margaret McDaniel Knight, and son-in-law Gilford Knight. She was preceded in death by her father, R. Hobart Williams, mother Bessie Bailey Williams, brother Clyde E. Williams, husband Kyle William McDaniel, Sr. and son Kyle William McDaniel, Jr.. Evelyn graduated from Everett High School in 1939, Maryville College in 1943, and earned a Masters Degree in Library Science from the University of Tennessee after she began working for the Blount County Library in 1970. She was the Blount County Library Director from 1975 to 1990, and a lifelong member of The First Baptist Church of Maryville. She was a devoted wife and mother, and will be greatly missed and lovingly remembered. Visitation will be held on Thursday, January 8, 2009 from 6:30pm-7:00pm at McCammon-Ammons-Click Funeral Home in Maryville. A memorial service will follow at 7:00pm, Rev. Betty Hoglen officiating. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made in Evelyn's memory to the Blount County Library.
