JOHNSTON, Eva Dee -age 103 of Louisville, passed away Saturday, September 8th, 2007 at Asbury Place. She was a member of New Providence Presbyterian Church and an active member of Maryville-Alcoa Business and Professional Women’s Club for several years. In 1974-1975 year she was named “Woman of Achievement” by that organization. She was employed by Prudential Insurance Company of America as office manager for 26 years, the last 22 years in the Nashville agency, from which she retired in 1963. After retirement, she made her home in Miser Station community of Blount County in the Brickell-Johnston home place where she was born and reared. She enjoyed traveling after her retirement. In 1972 she and the trustees incorporated the Shady Grove Cemetery Association and a Perpetual Care Fund was established by generous donations from members of the community. She served as secretary-treasurer of that organization from 1973 to 1998. Survivors include: Nieces, Joyce Johnston O’Connor and Carole Watkins Sneed of Blount County; nephews, William Baker, Keith McDaniel, Norman Watkins, and Dan Johnston all of Blount County, Homer B. Johnston Jr. of Knoxville, Gary Johnston of Nashville, and Donald Johnston of New Jersey; great nieces and nephews; sister-in-law, Mattie Johnston of Blount County. Funeral service will be 2:00 pm Tuesday, September 11th, 2007 at McCammon-Ammons-Click Chapel with Rev. J. Steven Musick officiating. The interment will follow in Shady Grove Cemetery. The family will receive friends 1:00-2:00 pm Tuesday at McCammon-Ammons-Click Funeral Home. In Lieu of flowers memorial donations may be sent to Shady grove Cemetery Association, Inc.,c/o Norman B.
