Eugene Veal

Eugene Veal, age 95, of Maryville, TN passed away Tuesday, August 15, 2017, at Clover Hill Sr. Living of Maryville. He was a member of St. John United Methodist Church of Maryville. After graduation from Maryville High School, where he lettered in football, basketball and baseball, Eugene enlisted in the U. S. Navy, serving from 1942 to 1946 as an Aviation Radioman 2nd Class aboard the aircraft carrier U.S.S. Tripoli. He was an accomplished bowler and avid golfer. Preceded in death by his parents, Payton H. and Sarah (Henderson) Veal; beloved wife of 64 years, Irene (Hannah) Veal; brothers, Ernest, J.O., Ray, twins Alfred and Albert, and Charles; niece, Betty Veal Tipton. Survivors and primary caregivers are Joyce Veal Bozzone (John) and Jo Anne Veal White (Kenneth); other nieces and nephews, Janice Veal Seidman, Vicky Veal, Capt. Donald R. Veal, USN. Ret. (Michele), David Veal, Randy and Ricky Veal; many great nieces and nephews. The family would like to thank the staff and administration at Clover Hill Sr. Living for their excellent, compassionate care of Eugene during these final months. Funeral services will be held Friday, August 18, 2017, at 1:00 p.m. at McCammon-Ammons-Click Funeral Home, Maryville, TN, with Rev. Bill Shelton and Rev. Jim Besley officiating. The interment will follow at Clarks Grove Cemetery. The family will receive friends prior to the service from 12-1:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
