Etta V. Chambers Lawhorn

Etta V. Chambers Lawhorn, age 94, of Maryville, passed away Tuesday, December 5, 2017. She was born March 20, 1923 in Lenoir City, Tennessee. Etta graduated from Knoxville Business College in 1956 and began an administrative career in the office of Homer Isbell MD in Maryville. She continued her career in Dr. Isbells office until retiring early to care for several family members in declining health. Etta was a faithful and devoted member of First Christian Church of Maryville her entire adult life, serving the church in many ways. Etta was preceded in death by her devoted husband, Ted R. Lawhorn; parents, Cas G. and Katharyn Bryant Chambers; sisters, Mildred Louise Gunter, Daris June Thacker, Anna Lorraine Satterfield, Elsie Lew Belcher, Clara Joyce Latham, Vera Wilma Whitehead, Earle Mavis Rogers, and Brenda Ann Riggs; and brother, James Wendell Chambers. Etta is survived by many nieces and nephews. The family wishes to express their deep appreciation to Pastor Gary Henline and the loving members of First Christian Church of Maryville for their devotion to Etta in recent years. The family will receive friends from 1-2:00 p.m. Friday at McCammon-Ammons-Click Funeral Home. Funeral service is at 2:00 p.m. at the funeral home with Pastor Gary Henline officiating. If you wish to honor Ettas memory, donations may be made to childrens ministries at First Christian Church of Maryville, which gave her great joy throughout her life.
