Ethel Coulter Pesterfield

PESTERFIELD, Ethel Coulter, age 92 of Maryville, passed away Tuesday, August 6, 2002, at Blount Memorial Hospital. She was a wonderful person who loved everyone she met but with a special place in her heart for children. As a charter member of Monte Vista Baptist Church, she was proud of the fact that she taught Sunday School for so many years in the children’s department that she had the opportunity to teach second-generation families. She was preceded in death by her husband, J. B. Pesterfield; father and mother, William Houston and Leah Margaret Everett Coulter; brothers, Ben, Ernest and Horace Coulter; sisters, Nora Margaret Coulter, Mrs. Alex (Minnie) Long and Mrs. Floyd (Bardia) Pierce. Survivors include: son and daughter-in-law, Gary Lynn and Freda Pesterfield of Maryville; daughters and sons-in-law, Linda Gail and Rev. Vince Krauss of Sweetwater, Donna and Ernest Kemper, Jr. of Maryville; grandchildren and spouses, Buddy and Jeanne Kemper, Leah Kemper- Clark of Jasper, GA, Tammy Boruff, Mandy and Rocky Welch, James and Jeff Pesterfield; great grandchildren, T. J. Cansler, Kayla Boruff, Stephanie Boruff, A. J. Baldwin, Chestney Baldwin, Dakota Welch, and Bailey Kemper all of Maryville; sisters, Mrs. Elmer (Raychel) Gibson and Mrs. Ralph (Johnnie) Bailey; sister-in-law, Mable Coulter Broyles; several cousins, nieces and nephews; special friends, residents and staff of Home Away From Home, Mary Fran Aptaker and Tom Callahan. Funeral services will be held at 8:00 p.m. Friday, August 9, in McCammon-Ammons-Click Funeral Home Chapel with Dr. Howard Olive and Rev. Jerry Mantooth officiating. The interment will be at 11:00 a.m. Saturday in Grandview Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6:30-8:00 p.m. Friday at McCammon-Ammons-Click Funeral Home, Maryville.
