Estel J. Downey

Estel J. Downey, age 82 of Maryville, passed away Friday, October 23, 2009, at his home. He was retired after 41 years of employment with Anderson Lumber Co. A member of Mountain View Church of Christ, and served as elder for many years. He was a member of Mountain View Masonic Lodge #519. He was a WW II veteran. Preceded in death by his ;parents, Bud And Ocie Downey; brother Owen Downey; sisters, Verna May Downey, Mary Ruth Dunlap; daughter, Carolyn Owens. He is survived by his loving wife of 59 years, Mildred Chapman Downey; sons, Ronald Downey and wife Marie, Jerry Downey; daughter Cheryl Smith and husband Lonnie; 5 grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren; sister, Irene Best and husband Oscar Best; and several nieces and nephews Funeral services will be 7 PM Monday October 26th 2009 In McCammon-Ammons-Click Funeral Home Chapel with Mr. Harold Ray, Mr. Terry Wells, and Dr. Benic Hampton officiating. Family and friends will meet 10 AM Tuesday October 27th 2009 at Mountain View Church of Christ Cemetery for the interment.
