Ellis N. Evans, Jr.

Ellis N. Evans, Jr., age 85, of Greenback, loving husband, father, grandfather and devoted servant of our Lord Jesus Christ went to be with the Lord May 12, 2014, at home surrounded by his family. He was a member of Immanuel Baptist Church and an ordained deacon and Sunday School teacher for over 45 years. He was preceded in death by his son, Ronnie Lee Evans; granddaughter, April Evans; daughter-in-law, Ramona Evans; parents, Ellis N. Evans, Sr., and Lottie Belle; brothers, Clarence, Coy and Lee Evans. He is survived by his devoted wife of 65 years, Geneva Evans; children, Faye McCollum (Eddie), Debbie Hammontree (David), Mike Evans, Teresa Evans, Pam Queen (Dennis), and Alma Evans (Charlie); 10 grandchildren; 10 great grandchildren; brothers, Everett, Roy, Owen and Kenny Evans. Special thanks to Chad and Conner Evans for their loving, daily care and devotion to Papaw, also to Covenant Hospice and Dr. John Ingram. The family wishes to extend appreciation to Pat Hungate for her kindness and making the last of Ellis's journey so peaceful. The family will receive friends from 5-7:00 p.m. Wednesday at McCammon-Ammons-Click Funeral Home followed by funeral services at 7:00 p.m. with his son, Mike Evans and Rev. Denny Moore officiating. Family and friends will meet at 11:00 a.m. Thursday at Pine Grove Cemetery for the interment service with Rev. Nathan Housely officiating.
