Ellen M. Fisher

Ellen M. Fisher passed away peacefully in her home on April 21, 2025, surrounded by family and the love she gave so freely throughout her life.

A devoted mother, sister, grandmother, friend, and healer, Ellen leaves behind a legacy of compassion and strength. She is survived by her brother Bruce McConnell (Janet); her daughters Kristen Childs (David) and Jennifer Baldwin; and her beloved grandchildren Jacob Childs, Nicholas Childs, Nathaniel Baldwin, Ethan Baldwin, and Ian Baldwin.

Ellen dedicated over 20 years of her life as a neonatal nurse practitioner at UT Medical Center, where she touched the lives of hundreds of families. Her presence in those most tender and trying moments brought comfort, hope, and healing to so many.

A lover of nature, Ellen found peace and joy in the Smoky Mountains, where she spent countless days hiking, reflecting, and breathing in the beauty of the outdoors. She had a radiant spirit, a gift for friendship, and an open heart that welcomed everyone. Her laughter was infectious, and she never missed a chance to toast life with a glass of champagne—especially when surrounded by those she loved.

A celebration of Ellen’s life will be held on April 26th. Visitation with family will be held at McCammon Ammons Click Funeral Home at 1:00 p.m. followed by a service in the chapel at 2:00 p.m. Friends and family are invited to join in honoring a remarkable woman whose warmth, wit, and unwavering love will be deeply missed and forever remembered.
