Elizabeth Rix Pack

July 12, 1925 — April 3, 2007

PACK, Elizabeth Rix, age 81 of Maryville, born in Clarence, IA, passed away Tuesday, April 3, 2007, at Shannondale Retirement Center. Prior to moving to Shannondale, she had resided most of her adult life in the Old Hickory, TN area. Betty had a wonderful zest for life. She and her husband traveled many places throughout the world. She was a member of Old Hickory Presbyterian Church for over 40 years. She served her church in many ways including holding offices as Women of the Church President, deacon, elder and doing mission work in Ghana. Many will remember her for her artistic attributes and creativity. She loved gardening, flower arranging, painting, and her handmade baskets were extraordinary. She will be greatly missed. She was preceded in death by her parents, Hugo and Alma Rix; infant son, Ronald Rix Pack and husband, Martin Finch Pack. Survivors include one son, Gary Pack (Nancy); daughters, Nancy Culver (Eugene), Barbara Heiny (Jerome) and Evelyn Tomlinson (Ken); 9 grandchildren; 2 great grandchildren; brother, Robert Rix; sister, Mildred Swanson. A memorial service will be held Friday, April 6, 2007, at 3:00 p.m. in the Shannondale Chapel with The Rev. Dr. Emily Anderson and Rev. Dixie Petrey officiating. A memorial service will also be held Sunday, April 15, at Old Hickory Presbyterian Church, Old Hickory, TN.
