Elizabeth Crawford Scott December 8, 1949-April 25, 2008 After a long battle with cancer, Elizabeth Crawford Scott passed quietly at home in the early morning of April 25, 2008 in the presence of family. Elizabeth was a long time teacher for the Maryville City School System, was a Tennessee Infant and Parent Services provider, and was also instrumental in starting the Gate-Gateway to Independence, a non-profit organization providing services to people with disabilities. She was an avid tennis player and gifted musician who loved to hike and bicycle. She was a member of Highland Presbyterian Church. Elizabeth is survived by her husband, Roger Scott, her children, McKenna and Christopher Cox, her mother, Helen Crawford, sister, Cathy Knight, brothers Roy and Clarence Crawford, grandchildren, church family, fellow teachers, students, and friends. A memorial service will be held in honor of Elizabeth Crawford Scott on Sunday, April 27, 2008 at Highland Presbyterian Church at 3:00 PM in Maryville. A receiving of friends will be held immediately afterwards at the church. In lieu of flowers, the family is asking that donations be given to the Blount Memorial Hospital Hospice Program, The Gate-Gateway to Independence, and Highland Presbyterian Church.
