Elizabeth Angeline Roberts

Elizabeth Angeline Brown Roberts, age 98 of Maryville, a former resident of Cades Cove, passed away at Blount Memorial Hospital September 24th. She was thought to be the oldest living former resident of Cades Cove. She was the oldest living member of Pleasant Grove Baptist Church. Mrs. Roberts was preceded in death by her husband Wiley Jackson Roberts, parents Jesse S. and Rutha Brown, step-mother Naomi Brown, brothers and sisters -in-law, George and Jennie Brown, Melvin and Mary Brown, sister and brother-in-law Mike and Mary Tipton and step- sister Faye and Ralph Ratledge. She is survived by sons and wives, Henry H. and Mary Kay Roberts and Charles W. and Mary Gene Roberts; half-brothers and wives Jesse S. Brown, Jr. and Lucille, and Noah Howard and Bernice Brown. Five grandchildren: Joyce Garmeson, William W. Roberts, Jeffrey Gordon Roberts, Kent Stephen Roberts and Dawn Lea Bailes, several great grandchildren and a number of special nieces and nephews. The body is at McCAMMON-CLICK FUNERAL HOME, where the family will receive friends from 6:30-8:00 p.m. Tuesday with a memorial service at 8:00 p.m. conducted by Rev. Greg Long and Rev.Ted E. Davis. Friends and family will meet at GRANDVIEW CEMETERY at 11:00 a.m., Wednesday 25th for the graveside services. Grandsons will serve as Pall Bearers.
