Eleanor Cochran Denton

Eleanor Cochran Denton, age 80 of Maryville, passed away Thursday, December 17, 2015, at Shannondale of Maryville. She was retired from the Blount County School System after 37 years. She graduated from Hiawassee College, Tennessee Wesyln College and received her Master's plus 45 hours at the University of Tennessee. She has been a life long member of Maryville First United Methodist Church and was a member of Rockford Eastern Star. She was preceded in death by her husband, Coy W. Denton; parents, Cecil H. Cochran and Carmer Peterson Cochran; sisters, Edna C. Maples, and Dale Peterson Montgomery; special nephew, Marion Maples. She is survived by brothers, John M. Cochran and Charles G. Cochran (Mary Jo); sister, Darlene C. Kerley; and special sister, "Hope Lewis"; several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be at 4:00 p.m. Sunday in McCammon-Ammons-Click Funeral Home Chapel. Family and friends will meet at 11:00 a.m. Monday at Middle Creek Cemetery for the interment service. The family will receive friends from 2-4:00 p.m. at the funeral home. Donations, in lieu of flowers, may be made to the Association for Frontotemporal Degeneration; Maryville First United Methodist Church or a charity of your choice.
